Transaction Item Types – Service Credits

These settings apply to service credit items added directly to a transaction — meaning services that are not tied to a scheduled appointment. Understanding how these options function is key to properly managing transactions. Service credits can either be used immediately at the time of purchase or stored for future use, depending on how the transaction is configured. Choosing the right option ensures accurate client balances and smooth service redemption down the line.

OptionDescription
Selecting the checkbox to the left of a service allows you to apply a promotion to that item. Once selected, a dropdown will appear at the top of the list where you can search for available promotions.
Clicking the Edit tool here lets you assign the service to an employee. This is typically the person who made the sale or, if you track commissions, the person who will receive credit for it.
This displays the service’s price. An Edit tool is also available to adjust the price directly. User permission required.
Displays the quantity of the service in the transaction. You can click and update this value, which will automatically adjust the transaction total.
Use this dropdown to select whether the service should be added as a credit or consume:
Credit – Will add a credit for this service under the clients profile to consume at future visit.
Consume – Will consume the credit on the transaction today.
The X icon allows you to remove the service credit from the transaction. User permission required.
Discount LabelThis label appears under the service to indicate the discount amount applied to that item.
